The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has partnered with the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) to host the first-ever Olympic Games for e-sports in Saudi Arabia in 2025. This agreement will last for 12 years, bringing more e-sports events to the country in the future. Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, the Minister of Sports and SOPC Chairman, credited this achievement to the strong support for sports in Saudi Arabia from the nation's leadership, especially HRH the Crown Prince. Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, an IOC member and Chair of the Women's Sports Committee, praised the support from Saudi leadership for the sports sector, particularly e-sports, which has seen remarkable growth.
