First Phase of Riyadh’s Public Parking Project Begins: A Step Toward a Smarter City

Riyadh has launched the first phase of its Public Parking Project, marking a significant step toward becoming a smarter city. This initiative aims to enhance urban mobility, reduce congestion, and improve parking efficiency through advanced technology solutions. Learn how this project is paving the way for a more connected and sustainable future in the heart of Saudi Arabia.

The Riyadh Mayoralty has kicked off the first phase of a major project aimed at organizing public parking across the city. This initiative, part of a broader Public Parking plan, is designed to improve daily life by reducing illegal parking and easing traffic congestion.

In this initial phase, more than 24,000 parking spots on city streets and over 140,000 parking spaces in residential neighborhoods will be created and managed. Twelve districts, including Al-Wurood, Al-Rahmaniyah, and Al-Morouj, as well as four districts in the south, are included in this phase.

The project isn’t just about managing traffic; it also aims to boost local businesses by making it easier for shoppers and sellers to find parking. By offering more convenient parking options, the project hopes to encourage more people to visit and shop in these areas.

This project is a collaboration between Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company and Solutions by STC, a top digital transformation company. Together, they will handle these parking facilities' setup, management, operation, and maintenance.

This initiative aligns with Riyadh Municipality’s goal of supporting private sector growth and fulfilling Vision 2030. By using sustainable and smart city technologies, the municipality aims to make Riyadh a better place to live.
