Discover the upcoming weather changes in Saudi Arabia as cooler days approach. This article explores the expected drop in temperatures, offering a welcome relief from the intense summer heat. Learn about the factors contributing to the shift and how it will impact daily life in the region.
After a long, hot summer, Saudi Arabia is finally welcoming cooler weather. The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) announced that September 1st marks the beginning of autumn, a season typically known for its rainfall and changing weather patterns.
Although the heat will gradually ease, the NCM expects temperatures to stay high until mid-September. However, by the middle of the month, people should start to feel the cooler weather, bringing much-needed relief after temperatures reached up to 50°C during the summer.
Hussein Al-Qahtani, the NCM spokesperson, confirmed that while the end of summer is here, the real cooling effect of autumn won’t be noticeable until later in the month. The center also mentioned that they would soon provide a detailed report on what to expect during this autumn season.
The cooler weather, combined with potential thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rain, indicates the onset of winter. October is anticipated to bring a notable decrease in temperatures, with the mercury dropping from above 40°C to around 30°C at the onset of rainfall. Presently, temperatures in the capital city are still elevated, with forecasts indicating 41 to 42°C for the entire week.
